Michael Hutter: A Hieronymus Bosch of modern times

Hutter shows lust and vice as they are preached in the seven deadly sins: lust, anger, envy, gluttony, arrogance, indolence and greed are the subject of his work. For him, God is the real monster, and hell exists on earth. In all cases of sin, there is a highly erotic moment of tension, in which the female gender in particular is surprisingly active.

The painter is both thematically and technically reminiscent of the Dutch Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516), whose sometimes puzzling representations continue to fascinate. Like Bosch, Hutter immortalized demonic mythical creatures and figures in oil on wood alongside bipedal and quadruped beings with sometimes hideous animal heads. His bestiaries are very allegorical.

Michael Hutter es un pintor, grafista y fotocompositor alemán que a través de sus obras nos convence que ha visitado los oscuros rincones del purgatorio; ha experimentado las fantasías más perversas y ha sobrevivido a esa búsqueda infernal; para realizar un trabajo con óleos sobre planchas de madera prensada, tintas, acrílicos, dibujos y fotocomposiciones con antiguas fotografías y Photoshop que se transforman en una prueba del delirio de la ‘mística’ experiencia.

Ocultismo y detalles cotidianos de la vida en el purgatorio son la tónica de la obra de Hutter y lo que sin duda, lo transforma en una representación absolutamente fascinante.
